The World Is Turning takes its title from one of the album’s central songs. At the same time, the phrase describes the overall theme of the record.
The world never stands still. Societies, relationships and people change, while the challenges facing humanity continue to evolve.
The album explores different aspects of this ongoing transformation, combining personal experiences with social and global developments.
Chapter 01
Although the songs tell different stories, they are connected by the idea of change and transformation.
The title track reflects a world that continues to evolve relentlessly, whether people are ready for those changes or not.
Technological progress, social developments and global events constantly reshape our lives.
The world is changing – often leaving more questions than answers.
The song is about saying goodbye to people we love.
Loss is one of the few experiences shared by all human beings.
The song describes the emotions connected with separation, memory and acceptance.
This song focuses on one of the defining challenges of our time: climate change.

Chapter 02
The music for The World Is Turning grew out of the creative collaboration between Günter Schlünkes and Wolfgang Beckers.
The aim was not simply to write a collection of individual songs. The album was intended to bring different musical moods and lyrical themes together within one coherent framework.

Chapter 03
The cover artwork was once again created by Willgard Krause, whose visual work is closely connected with the world of Riven Earth.
The image shows the musicians on what appears to be a distant planet.
Above them, a zeppelin-like airship crosses the sky, creating a dreamlike and slightly surreal atmosphere.
In the background, Earth can be seen continuing its endless journey through space.
Whatever happens in our individual lives, the world keeps turning.
People experience change, loss, hope and uncertainty, while the planet itself continues its constant motion.
